He was originally the captain of the Bellamy Pirates, affiliated with the Donquixote Family. From his childhood, he admired Donquixote Doflamingo, adopting a behavior that was initially arrogant and wild. He held contempt for pirates with dreams, viewing them as foolish scum. After visiting the Sky Island and witnessing the significant growth of Luffy, whom he used to mock, Bellamy's perception of him changed. Luffy became the second person he admired. One Piece, which includes the character Bellamy, premiered on October 20, 1999. The show is adapted from a manga created by the talented Japanese manga artist Eiichiro Oda. Bellamy's character name is derived from the North American pirate, Samuel Bellamy. As the captain of the Bellamy Pirates, Bellamy is blonde with a long scar on his left eye. He was born in the North Blue and has admired Doflamingo from a young age. After becoming a pirate, he joined forces with Doflamingo. Bellamy's personality and perspective were heavily influenced by his leader, Donquixote Doflamingo. As a promising rookie pirate in Mock Town, he viewed optimistic pirates as foolish and scoundrels. Bellamy has fair skin and a very muscular upper body, along with blonde hair, thin eyebrows, large eyes, a wide mouth, and a straight nose. He is often seen flaunting his teeth when he laughs and he has a scar above his right eye. In his initial appearance, he sported a red vest, white cropped trousers, a green belt, and a blue captain's coat. His jacket removal revealed tattoos on both shoulders. Two years later, his muscles became more pronounced, and he opted to go shirtless, displaying the symbol of the Donquixote family on his chest. His attire comprised a deep blue short-sleeved jacket and a brown belt. He also chose to wear sunglasses and had a scar on his left eye. Bellamy's journey to Sky Island resulted in a piece of a golden bell, which he subsequently gave to Doflamingo. Unfortunately, he lost all of his companions during this journey. Bellamy put his life on the line two years later to secure the Mera Mera no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit) for Doflamingo in the Dressrosa tournament. Prior to the match, he recognized Luffy, who was disguised as "Lucy.” Notwithstanding, he harbored no resentment towards Luffy. After the incident in Dressrosa, Bellamy abandoned his life as a pirate and settled in Dressrosa to master the art of fabric dyeing.
