Episode 12

She pauses for a second, pupils enlarging at once. The sudden explosion of pain makes her mouth hang open. The bullet plants deep into her shoulder, and blood oozes out slowly, dyeing red her shirt around the shoulder. She momentarily gets on tenterhooks and loses her balance.

‘Slap!’ Her entire body falls into a broad chest.

At this point, Xuanyuan Lie catches Xiaoxiao with his right arm and takes over the machine gun with his left hand. The dark eyes burn with killing intention.

It is the kind of daunting horrifying look that generates, in the mind of that man, the intention to run away.

Lie spares no mercy nor hesitation and pulls the trigger. A dozens of shots in a row. The bullets fly all over the sky and head right into the man’s body.

Smell of blood begins to spread.

“Come and deal with the aftermath.” Xuanyuan Lie takes out and talks to his phone. Hanging up, he takes a look at the little guy in the car.

Mu Maomao is completely scared. His eyes are wide open, and his mouth is trembling nonstop.

“Get out kiddo!” Xuanyuan Lie says calmly. The thirst of killing and fierceness in his eyes has dispersed.

Maomao struggles his way out of the car, his hands and feet still shaking after getting onto the ground. A layer of mist covers his eyes.

In Xuanyuan Lie’s arm, Xiaoxiao maintains a trace of mental clarity. Watching Maomao shaking, she narrows her eyes and her lips move subtly, “Don’t worry, I’m fine.”

Looking down at the little buddy, Lie can’t help but chuckle, “Why are you so nervous?”

Although Maomao is worried, he is clear that he mustn’t reveal mom’s true identity, so he sobs, “He saved us just now.”

“He won’t die.” After saying that, Xuanyuan Lie marches on.

Resting on his shoulder, her body swings in the air. Since when has she ever been thrown into such an awkward plight?! Ouch, though the shot is painful, lying on his shoulder like this and swinging in the air hurts more! Holy god, what’s this all about? Why is all this shit happening?

It doesn’t take long before a luxurious house appears in front of them.
