Following the graduation of its elder members, the Koto Music Club at Tokise High School is left with just one member – Kudo Chika. When the new academic term begins in April, Chika finds himself struggling to recruit new members. The club room is even overtaken by delinquents. Surprisingly, joining the club’s ranks is a seemingly ill-matched delinquent newcomer, Kurata Takezou, followed suit by a koto prodigy, Satowa Houzuki. Each member, with their distinct sounds and styles on the traditional Japanese string instrument, weaves together a tale of youth and music within the school's corridors. This, at its core, is the beautifully harmonious story of 'Kono Oto Tomare!'.
