Kaku infiltrated the No. 1 dock's shipwrights for 5 years in order to steal the blueprint of the ancient weapon Pluton. During the Enies Lobby Incident, Kaku acquired the Giraffe Fruit. After getting accustomed to its uses, he demonstrated great power with the combination of Rokushiki (the Six Powers of the Navy), capable of suppressing Zoro. Ultimately, Zoro defeated Kaku using his Asura: Mist Illusion technique. [1] As a shipwright at Galley-La Company's No. 1 dock, he was known as "Mountain Wind" for his ability to fly swiftly through the city. Boasting the appearance of a wooden figure (once mistaken for Usopp by Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji), he was loved by the citizens of Water Seven. His true identity is as an undercover member of the intelligence organization CP9, who had been embedded in the GALLE-LA Company for five years. He possessed the abilities of the Giraffe Fruit (Giraffe form) and finally fell at the hands of Zoro in battle. His power level was at 2200, second only to the CP9's leader Rob Lucci. Known for his four-sword style (holding two swords in his hands and treating each leg as a sword), he was considered one of the most formidable opponents in combat. Kaku's most powerful technique is "Rankyaku," and he is known for his charming smile and cheerful personality. He often wore a white duckbill cap with "Galley-La" written on it (later changed to black) and was never seen without it, thus his hairstyle remained unknown. When he was undercover at Water Seven, he seemed quite happy. Kaku's disposition was rather simple and straightforward. During his duel with Zoro, he came across as very naive, and many of his attack names were made up on the spot. Unlike the cunning Jabura, he was open and forthcoming about his new techniques. Kaku is a user of the Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model: Giraffe. As a member of CP9 (with a power level of 2200), he was also the youngest among them. But he often feigned maturity in conversation, often referring to himself as "this old man". He possessed an astonishing leaping ability, enabling him to jump freely between high-rise rooftops. He has a long nose, similar to Usopp's, though, unlike Usopp, Kaku's nose is square. After CP9's defeat, the group used the power of Bruno's Door-Door Fruit to escape to a small island, and afterward, they fled to Saint Poplar Island. In order to raise money for Lucci's medicine, each member performed street performances. Kaku even played a Giraffe slide. They subsequently defeated invading pirates and set sail to their homeland, only to be pursued by the navy. After defeating the navy, they boarded a navy ship and left (destination unknown).
