Koala, a distinguished character from One Piece, is easily identifiable by her vibrant orange hair. Originally a wild-haired child sporting grubby braces, her appearance drastically transformed once she joined the Sun Pirates, adopting a tidier hairstyle and a fresh ensemble. Nowadays, as an adult, Koala is a captivating figure serving in the Revolutionary Army with her signature outfit entailing a miniskirt, high heels, and a petite hat accompanied by goggles.
Her formative years were marred by a harrowing period of enslavement. Following her emancipation by Fisher Tiger during his dramatic onslaught against Marie Jovas, Koala was swept onto the Sun Pirates' voyage back home, ultimately aligning herself with the Revolutionary Army. In her current capacity, she holds prominent posts: that of a Fishman karate assistant instructor and a high-ranking military official, often collaborating with Sabo and Harker.
Koala was first introduced to readers via a flashback in the Fish-Man Island arc as a young girl, and re-emerges later in the series during the Dressrosa arc.
Throughout her servitude under Tianlong, Koala grappled with profound trauma. Outbursts of anger would always unnerve her, and she'd constantly clean the floor in an act of despair to stave off death. However, finding comfort amongst the Sun Pirates allowed her to slowly regain her jovial spirit and resilience. Today, Koala combines a gentle aura, abounding kindness, and spontaneous grit.
